General Flight Info

Getting to the Airport: Arranging your travel to and from the departure airport is up to you. You’ll need to get there at least five hours before the flight is scheduled to depart.

At the Airport: All participants will check-in together as a group. We’ll meet you right at check-in (with snacks), guide you through the process and direct you to other group participants so you can pass the time getting to know each other. Just look for the #IsraelFreeSpirit representative waiting for you at check-in.

Domestic connections: If you’re going to fly to the departure airport, you’ll need to get a flight that lands at least six hours before your Birthright flight, to account for any possible delays, baggage claims, switching terminals, etc. If you’re catching a domestic connection home, remember that you’ll have to pass through baggage claim, customs etc., so you’ll want to leave at least three hours between the flights.

Special seating and meals: You can make special seating requests at the airport. If you have any special dietary needs (i.e. vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc) or if you have allergic reactions to any foods, please indicate this information in the Travel Section of your application.

Baggage Info: Check the baggage limit for checked and carry-on luggage here.

Flight Extensions: See more of Israel during your trip extension. You can extend your trip here.

Frequent Flyer Miles: Airlines will not allow you to receive frequent flyer miles on your tickets to/from Israel due to the nature of the ticket fare rules.
